Booking
How do I make a booking? +

Browse vehicles on the Vehicles page, click on a listing to view details, then click Book Now. Select your dates, fill in your contact details and submit. You'll receive a confirmation email and our team will confirm within a few hours.

How far in advance should I book? +

We recommend booking at least 24–48 hours in advance to ensure availability, especially during holiday periods. Last-minute bookings are possible but subject to availability.

Can I cancel or modify my booking? +

Yes. You can cancel a pending or confirmed booking from your My Account page. Click the Cancel button on the booking card. Please note:

  • Cancellations made 24+ hours before pickup are free.
  • Cancellations within 24 hours may incur a fee depending on the vehicle owner's policy.
  • To modify dates, please cancel and re-book, or contact us via chat.
How will I know if my booking is confirmed? +

After submitting, your booking status will show as Pending. Once the vehicle owner confirms, it changes to Confirmed and you'll receive an email notification. You can track the status at any time in My Account.

What is a booking reference number? +

Each booking gets a unique reference number (e.g. TRV-2025-XXXX). Use this to identify your booking when contacting us or in any disputes. It's shown in your My Account page and in your confirmation email.

What types of vehicles are available? +

TRAVEL Lanka lists a wide range of vehicles including:

  • 🛺 Tuk Tuks
  • 🚕 Cabs & rides with drivers
Are the vehicles inspected before rental? +

Vehicles on TRAVEL Lanka are listed by verified owners and drivers. We encourage all listers to keep their vehicles in good condition. Always inspect the vehicle before accepting it and note any existing damage in writing. If you have any concerns, contact us immediately.

What if the vehicle breaks down during my trip? +

Contact the vehicle owner immediately via the chat feature. If you're unable to reach them, contact TRAVEL Lanka support via the Contact page. We'll help coordinate a resolution. We recommend always having the owner's phone number before departure.

Is insurance included? +

Insurance coverage varies by vehicle and owner. Check the individual listing details. We strongly recommend confirming insurance coverage with the vehicle owner before completing your booking. TRAVEL Lanka is a marketplace platform — insurance arrangements are between the renter and vehicle owner.

Listing Your Vehicle
How do I list my vehicle on TRAVEL Lanka? +

Create a free account, then go to Post a Vehicle Ad. Fill in your vehicle details, upload photos and set your price. Your listing will be reviewed by our team and go live within 24 hours of approval.

Is listing free? +

No — listing your vehicle on TRAVEL Lanka is Not free. We do charge a commission on bookings received through the platform.

How long does it take for my listing to be approved? +

Most listings are reviewed within 24 hours. You'll receive a notification once it's approved or if any changes are needed. You can track your listing status in My Account under the Ads tab.

What photos should I include? +

Good photos significantly increase bookings. We recommend:

  • Front, rear and side exterior shots
  • Interior dashboard and seats
  • Any special features (surf rack, AC, etc.)
  • Photos taken in good daylight
Can I list multiple vehicles? +

Yes. You can post multiple vehicle ads from the same account. Each listing goes through the same review process.

Payments
How do I pay for my booking? +

Currently, payment arrangements are made directly between you and the vehicle owner. The owner will specify their preferred payment method in the listing or via chat. Common methods include cash on pickup, bank transfer, and mobile wallets. Online payments are coming soon.

Is a deposit required? +

Deposit requirements vary by vehicle and owner. Check the listing details or ask the owner via chat before confirming your booking. Typical deposits range from LKR 5,000 to LKR 20,000 for cars.

What is the daily rate and how is the total calculated? +

The daily rate is shown on each listing (e.g. LKR 8,500 / day). The total is calculated by multiplying the daily rate by the number of rental days. Some owners may offer discounts for longer rentals — ask them directly via chat.

Account
Is creating an account free? +

Yes. Creating a TRAVEL Lanka account is completely free. You can sign up with your email or Google account on the Sign In page.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it? +

On the Sign In page, click Forgot password? and enter your email address. A password reset link will be sent to your inbox. Check your spam folder if it doesn't arrive within a few minutes.

How do I update my profile name or photo? +

Go to My Account and click Edit Profile. You can update your display name there. Profile photos sync from your Google account if you signed in with Google.

How do I delete my account? +

To request account deletion, please contact us with your registered email address. We'll process the request within 7 business days. Note that deletion is permanent and will remove all your bookings and listings.
